Io is one of the most active worlds of the solar system, with over 400 active volcanoes.
It's colourful surface is a painting of sulphuric and silicate lava flows tens of even hundreds of kilometres long and all too often, volcanic explosion eject material up to 200km into space, producing large umbrella-shaped plumes that slowly rain back unto the moon's surface colouring it red black and white.
