12mm Hex Conversion - For DT-03

This is a Hex conversion that is specific to the DT-02 & DT-03 platforms sold by Tamiya.  It may work on other Tamiya 2wd vehicles that use the same style of steering arm, such as the DT-01, GrassHopper, Hornet and Rising Fighter and other 2wd buggys.  It replaces the steering arm/upright used by the bearing-in-wheel system.  parts has two sets of holes for the steering arm ball, so you can do a straight arm or angled arm.  This Hex Conversion reduces the wheel base ~6mm.  Two of your original 5x11 bearings (or bushings if you like) are re-used, and two additional 5x9 bearings are needed.

Parts needed to complete this:
2x  5x9x3mm bearings (part # MR95RS or similar)
2x  5x11x4mm bearings (part # MR115-2RS or similar)
Tamiya wheel axles (part # 9805502, includes 2 axles)(Tamiya 54343 also works, Yeah Racing  M03-131BK too)
2x 12mm Hex Wheel Hubs with pins
5mm Ball Connectors (part # 9804205 or 50592 or similar)

Each set will be slightly different print-to-print.  A 3mm drill bit is likely needed to open up the upright pin hole as seen in the photo.  The bearings should go in with light assistance from pliers, however you can scrape out a bit of material for easier fit.  Make sure your steering alignment is correct, and adjust then endpoints on your controller for steering travel so the steering arms don't bump at the end of travel, and the wheels don't hit the suspension arms.
