Product Description
The CSS Shenandoah started life as a British merchant vessel in 1863, but was then acquired by the Confederate Navy and commissioned in a commerce raiding role. Shenandoah captured or destroyed 38 merchant ships in her career, and is famous for having fired the last shot of the Civil War; she was never caught and surredered in Liverpool, UK, in November 1865. Now property of the US government, Shenandoah was sold to the Sultan of Zanzibar, who renamed her El Majidi, but she was one of the ships wrecked in a hurricane during 1872.
