Product Description
The LFG Roland D.IIa was basically an L.F.G. Roland D.II with the 180hp Argus As.III engine, necessary because Mercedes D.III engines were prioritized to Albatros. Since the engine was longer than the Mercedes D.III, the nose had to be lengthened and the landing gear was moved forward. There were also minor differences in the engine louvers and access panels. Unfortunately, the Argus As.III turned out to be unreliable, and the plane was only operational for about four months.

Planes built by Pfalz were originally known as the Pfalz D.IIa, but were later renamed the "LFG Roland D.IIa(Pfal)".

This plane comes in both 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales.  The 1:288 product contains two aeroplanes, connected by disposable links.   Also available are the related LFG Roland D.I and D.II.
