Product Description
This kit is identical to my other F-82G radar pod but for two important features.  First, the radome is removable to reveal the SCR-720 C18 radar antenna underneath.  So you get to see all that nice, delicate detail that makes up the SCR-720 radar.  Second, this model is printed in the much nicer Fine Detail Plastic as the only option and the price reflects that.  Other than that, the exterior lines are identical.  So if you aren't interested in all the detail and are looking at minimizing cost, the economy version is available.

So the F-82G variant of ModelCraft's 1/48 Twin Mustang series is pretty precious ($$$).  But Modelcraft's other Twin Mustang variants are much more readily available, and certainly a lot less expensive ($20 v $120).  Furthermore, decals for the F-82G are also readily availble.  So if you're like me, you want a F-82G but bought a F-82B becuase its available...with that in mind, I've created the SCR-720 radar pod and flame supressing exhausts to transform your F-82B into an F-82G...Nothing like a 461 mph night fighter!

Check out this gallery of a completed Modelcraft F-82"G" conversion using my economy radar and exhaust parts.  The guy did an outstanding job on what is admittedly a just-OK kit.

As this is printed exclusilvey out of Fine Detail Plastic, have a read of my handling guide (paint prep, glueing, etc.):  Working with Fine Detail Plastic.
