The
Albatros C.XII was basically a refinement of the
Albatros C.X. The excellent Mercedes D.IVa was retained and the wings were mostly unchanged, but the fuselage borrowed the rounded cross-section of Albatros' D-class fighters. Like those fighters, it was smoothly streamlined and the plywood fuselage was of great strength.
While never as numerous as planes like the
D.F.W. C.V, the C.XII was widely used on the Western Front in 1917 and 1918.
