Product Description
This is a conversion set for AFV club's 1/350 scale Gato class Submarine 1942, kit # SE73510. This conversion allows you to create the USS Tunny, World War II Gato that was converted into the first cruise missile submarine, and then into a troop carrying submarine (which is the subject of this conversion). Following the development of the Polaris Submarine Launched Ballastic Missile, the Regulus missile program was wound down and the USS Tunny was retasked as an APSS submarine for Underwater Demolitions Teams/Special Operations, seeing action during the Vietnam War.
I've split this up to reduce cost. The conversion here will get you the deck modification and the dry deck shelter and its hatch. But to faithfully produce the USS Tunny LPSS/AGSS conversion you'll also need to add the following:
