The Waverider is an auxiliary craft on Nova Class ships. Like the Captain's Yacht of the Galaxy and the Sovereign Class as also the Aeroshuttle of the Intrepid Class, it is located right underneath the saucer section. The Luna Class (USS Titan) also features a similar vessel on its underside. Like the Aeroshuttle, the Waverider was never shown on screen except for it's outline on the Nova Class saucer and a coarse side view on the MSD of the Nova Class. It was never fully designed beyond this point. This model is based on a fan-design used in some PC-games. It combines the shape from the Nova Class saucer with parts of an upscaled Type 11 Shuttle. This is surely NOT the way this vessel is supposed to look like but throughout the years and in lack of any better design, it has been mostly accepted by the fandom as the actual appearance.
