The
Nieuport 20 was a development of the
Nieuport 12 with a 110hp Le Rhône 9J rotary engine and various other adjustments. Thirty were ordered by the RFC in 1916, though only twenty-one were delivered. They served with Squadron Nos.1, 45, and 46, but they were disliked. By early 1917 they were pulled from the front lines and relegated to training and Home Defense.
This product comes in both 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales. The 1:285 product contains two aeroplanes, linked by disposable links, each with detachable propeller disks. (Propeller blades are hard to print at this scale.)
DESIGNER NOTE:
Models at scales smaller than 1:144 may no longer be available. Shapeways discontinued the material for which they were designed, and the newer materials require that each and every model be adjusted to thicken surfaces like wings. If you are interested in a particular model in a small scale, please let me know and I will prioritize it higher in the queue.
