GillJet drive for medium sized model ships, can be integrated into the ships hull and allows for 360 degree propulsion power. Similar to an azimuth thruster or a pumpjet.
The set of prints consists of
- drive tunnel (two parts)
- gear for servo and for steering shaft
- disc to direct propulsion power
- grid for water inlet
- master plate to position holes in hull
The drive needs assembly, which is only recommended for the advanced modeler. It works ideally with a mostly flat hull. Cut all holes carefully to insert the drive. The hull needs to be mostly under the waterline to work properly, it has an integrated air vent to ensure the drive fills with water when the model is put into the water. Ideally, connect a rubber or silicone hose to this outlet to vent the model does not fill with water through this air outlet.
The drive uses standard RC components:
- RE 280 motor
- Futaba S3003 servo
- 68mm shaft, M2, in 4mm stern tube (recommended: Graupner 413)
- 20mm propeller, M2
A manual will be available shortly. The same goes for a sketch so show the actual size.
