Barnacle Earrings - Nature Jewelry

Stuck to rocks in tidal pools, stuck to boats, sometimes even stuck to other animals, barnacles are nonmotile crustaceans that feed on plankton by sweeping seawater into their hungry mouths with featherlike appendages. The animal itself is protected inside a ring of calcified plates and is related to crabs and lobsters. These earrings represent individual barnacles that you might find cemented to a rock at the ocean, waiting for the tide to come in so they can feast.

Earrings do not ship from Shapeways with earring backs. You will need to purchase these yourself, or use some from another pair of earrings. Post diameter is 1 mm and fits standard earring backs. Earrings are 7 mm (0.3 inch) in diameter.
