Size of the model:
length: 70 cm
width: 8.2 cm
The five units of the Thetis class were originally designed in the early 1960ies as submarine hunters and went through different design stages; the most well-known unit is possibly the "Najade", which had a characteristic superstructure to accomodate an extended hospital section. All units were transferred in the early 1990ies to the Hellenic Navy of Greece, and were kept in service until early this century.
Technical data of the original:
length: 70.0 m
width: 8.2 m
The Model is designed in 1:100 scale. It can be built as a working RC boat. It is set up to enable radio control functions (RC), with the twin shaft propulsion and the rudders fully functional. Additional functionality can be added by a skilled modeler, too. However, this model is not set up to be ready to run, it requires refinement and is only suitable for skilled model builders. An assembly manual, a set of drawings and further informations can be found on my website (download section):

To motorize the model, additional parts are needed. The model is set up to use the following components:
- two RE-280 motors
- two 200mm shafts, M2 diameter (recommended product: Modellbau Berthold, MB 3085)
- two propellers, no more than 24mm diameter (recommended product: Raboesch 162-41 and 162-42, 23.5mm diameter, M2, left and right hand rotation)
