Product Description
The spiral of Theodorus was first conceived of by Theodorus of Cyrene, an ancient Greek mathematician. It is comprised of a series of right triangles aligned at their edges. For each triangle, one leg has a length of one and the other leg has a length equal to the hypotenuse of the previous triangle. This results in a swirling, polygonal shape that approximates the Archimedean spiral.
Projecting the spiral of Theodorus into 3-dimensional space results in a beautiful faceted ribbon. The flower-like form reflects light like a gemstone, changing constantly as it moves. The unique forms make a bold statement that is sure to draw eyes and start conversations.
