Parts in "Versatile Plastic" material to complete the model of the historic German gun boat "Thetis" in 1:200 scale as a static model:
- aft deck
- main superstructure (in version of the Najade unit)
- aft superstructure
- main mast
To complete the ship, four different sets of 3D prints are needed:
If you use this set of prints, you can build the Najade, which had a different superstructure. In this case, you do not need the above superstructure.
A display stand is available, too:
Size of the model:
length: 35 cm
width: 4.1 cm
The five units of the Thetis class were originally designed in the early 1960ies as submarine hunters and went through different design stages; the most well-known unit is possibly the "Najade", which had a characteristic superstructure to accomodate an extended hospital section. All units were transferred in the early 1990ies to the Hellenic Navy of Greece, and were kept in service until early this century.
Technical data of the original:
length: 70.0 m
width: 8.2 m
The Model is designed in 1:200 scale. It can be built as a model for static display or as a working RC boat. It is set up to enable radio control functions (RC), with the twin shaft propulsion and the rudders fully functional. As the model is rather small, the model can only be used in calm water conditions. Additional functionality can be added by a skilled modeler, too. However, this model is not set up to be ready to run, it requires refinement and is only suitable for skilled model builders.
