1-537 Enterprise Saucer Top

A saucer top for the AMT/ERTL Enterprise model in 1/537th scale. This is to be used with the various scout/destroyer/B/C decks here in my shop. Simply cut out the topmost saucer ring from the dorsal part of the kit saucer and isntall this part in its place. The replacement scout/destroyer/B/C decks are shaped to fit atop it. PElase be sure to align it correctly fore and aft with the square mounting hole. You do not need this part to use the scout/destroyer/B/C decks, but without it I can't vouch for how they will fit. The central square is used to orient and mount the scout/destroyer/B/C decks' leave this area underneth the  replacement scout/destroyer/B/C decks clear if your intent is to light the model. 

One issue that I have noticed is that if the saucer top and the replacement B/C deck are not printed in the same material, the ends of the B/C deck's "hoods" may not quite match precisely. This is because (I believe) different materials are printed to different printing tolerances. For the best results, consider printing them both in the same media, the finer detail plastics preferred. If you wish to cut costs and print the saucer top in a less expensive material, then just be aware that some minor fillng and sanding may be required to get the ends of the hoods to merge seamlessly with the saucer top.
