Product Description
The 1953 Ealing Comedy ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt’ remains a firm favourite with railway enthusiasts. Its climax leads to L&MR locomotive ‘Lion’ (playing the titular ‘Thunderbolt’) pulling a GWR Toad brakevan and GWR Loriot Y machinery wagon with an old coach body mounted atop.
This model is an N Gauge rendition of ‘Dan’s Coach’ on the machinery wagon, comprising one-piece body/chassis and separate roof. Free-rolling, it can be used like any other piece of rolling stock, however, it is designed so it can also be motorised to work with my unpowered N Gauge Lion/Thunderbolt (separately available). An additional box is provided that, filled with lead, fits onto the chassis to give tractive power (see photos).
Necessary to Complete:
Graham Farish wagon wheels
Couplings (ELC couplings can be modified, but the method used is at the builder's discretion)
Weight (there are small areas on the underside and additional space within the coach body if necessary)
To motorise:
Tsugawa Micro loco n-gauge chassis – TU-7T
Weight (to add to the chassis box)
Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Brake levers (their hangers are pre-printed)
Stove-pipe chimney
I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
