Product Description
The first product that I've uploaded since Shapeways completely changed the method for creating products from uploaded 3D models.  Figuring out how the new system works was fun.  Why do you keep messing with us, Shapeways?!  Anyway, this is an orbiting platform built during the Golden Age of chuyinka society, based upon the Lotus Architectural Paradigm, which began with the fleet carrier.  Most orbiting platforms are built around universities, and function as large research stations.  Such orbiting platforms have weapons, in order to defend against asteroids, but they do not have massive amounts of space devoted to propulsion and weapon systems as chuyinka starships do.  They are flying cities, paradise for some, but nightmare for others, especially during the Age of Decay, as the population began to decline, and experiments within the labs aboard the platforms took on lives of their own...

This model is 16 centimetres tall, meaning that the platform would be 1.6 km tall IRL, or 9m (30ft) short of 1 statute mile.  This is the largest model in 1/10 000 scale that I've uploaded so far, and also the most expensive.  If you like the design, but not the ludicrous price tag, let me know, and I'll upload a smaller version.
