Product Description
These are freelance sandboxes not based on a real prototype. However they are based on the general style used by the GWR. In this case they are for converting a 57xx pannier tank into the Railway Series character Montague/Duck which carried the number 5741.
There was a real 5741 pannier tank also but it likely didn't have these sandbox extensions.
If fitting to a bachmann 5700 pannier 0-6-0 model all you need to do is slice off the filler caps on the running plate above the sand boxes, smooth the area with a file and glue these replacements on top.
Simples!
They are sprue joined so cut them apart and clean up with files first. There is enough to do 4 locomotives.
Feel free to use the remainder for other projects.
The photographs show these sandboxes fully finished and fitted, these however were printed on a much cheaper home printer, not Shapeways' materials.
