A more practical execution of the idea behind the KV-2, this vehicle is a much simpler but more powerful design. The 152.4mm M-10 howitzer of the KV-2 was replaced with the later ML-20S howitzer in the same calibre, which proved to be far too powerful to be put in a rotating turret, even with a muzzle brake. The casemate-type vehicle was first explored on the KV chassis in the form of the U-13, or KV-7. After its failure, as well as the failure of U-14, U-18 was up-gunned with the 152.4mm howitzer, sometimes called the KV-14, and eventually became the SU-152. The SU-152 was produced quickly over a very short period of time, with approximately 700 built between February and December of 1943, when the chassis was changed and production switched over to the ISU-152. This particular model is the late production variant, introduced in September of 1943.
Ordering the small variant will give you a single vehicle.
Ordering the medium variant will give you two vehicles.
Ordering the large variant will give you five vehicles.
Too expensive? Want it in a different colour or slightly larger scale? I sell this
exact same model on my website, as well as the
earlier version without the ventilation domes.
