25-Ton Fixed Gooseneck Float - Towing

This is an N-scale (1:160) model of a Rear-Loading, Fixed Gooseneck Steel Deck Equipment Trailer. It is modelled to represent a trailer in the towing configuration, hooked to a tow vehicle with the jacklegs retracted.

 

Based on photographs & manufacturers drawings, this trailer is a model of an Equipment Float most common in the 70’s & 80’s, but still used and built currently. While not an exact duplicate of a prototype, this model is meant to represent a typical 25-Ton Rear-Loading, Fixed-Gooseneck Float with steel decking & a steel beavertail without loading ramps. As was typical with steel-decked floats, there is no deck down the center of the deck to allow for a heavier load. The neck height is suitable for use behind most N-scale Semi Truck models.

 

Designers Note: This is a finely detailed, miniature scale model. It is small, delicate and fragile. It is my recommendation that this model not be treated as a toy.
