Product Description
This tractor is a 45 horsepower gas crawler tractor produced circa 1915 to 1919.  These crawlers continued in use through the 1920s and 1930s, but were obsolete by the early 1920s.

The early gas crawlers were raw machines with exposed flywheels and valve assemblies, open magnetos, hand cranks that liked to break arms, and driver seats hanging off of the back similar to horse drawn plows (and catapults, on big bumps).

This version of the 45 h.p. crawler has 13 inch track shoes.  The 13" shoes were cast as one integral part, as compared to most track shoes that were an outer plate bolted on to the inner 'chain' rail.

(Our 20" shoe version of this tractor demonstrates the bolted on track shoe variety.)

45 h.p. crawlers were painted in a wide variety of colors, which you can find with a quick web search for images.  The main colors when they were new were primarily maroon/red; green; brown; and yellow.

What you get when you purchase:   When you order a tractor Shapeways prints it and mails it directly to you.  The tractor arrives unpainted and you finish it off however you would like.
