Product Description
This Gondola car is based on the drawings of a wagon series built by Ryan Car Co. in 1925. Such gondolas with plank sides and external bracing were extremely common between the 1910es and 1960es, and were between the most commonly seen US Wagon types. All US Railroads operated them, and thousands were sent to USSR, Great Britain, Canada, South America or Persian Corridor over Lend Lease or as a Part of US Transport Command.
Such gondolas are seen in most harbor photos of US Navy yards, bringing supplies, or small equipment, coal, wood planks and logs, and machinery pieces, and bringing away scrap metal, trash and broken items.
This set contains 2 gondolas.
