Motor launches were widely used on US Warships in the 30es and early 40es for personel transport, transporting supplies and stores, and harbor duties. 40ft variety was widely used on carriers, cruisers and battleships, until most of the boats were landed to make room for extra AA guns in late 1942-1943
You will need to add a 2 bar railing around the steering platform on the rear, and a tiller.
