Product Description
This is a steel round post signal base and set of detail parts including a 36 inch signal arm for one signal. The parts have been designed to go onto a post made from 0.042 inch stainless steel tubing, a product of Ngineering brand product. The prototype post is made of two steel tubes the top piece sliding into the bottom piece. The bottom tube is a 0.050 inch stainless steel tubing also by Ngineering. Both sizes are required to complete the post.

The height of the post is up to the modeller and the particular signal being modelled. One method of working out the height of a signal is to count the rungs on the signal ladder as they are approximately one foot apart (305mm). I use a clear plastic rule with mm and measure the height of the ladder on the computer screen and then work out the scale which I use to determine the overall height of a particular signal.

The Ngineering product numbers for the tubing are:

Ngineering 0.042 inch stainless steel tubing - N2042-2 (2 pack) or N2042-4 (4 pack)
Ngineering 0.050 inch stainless steel tubing - N2065-2 (2 pack) or N2065-4 (4 pack)

The only source for this tubing that I have found in Australia is the Model Railroad Craftsman at Blacktown NSW. The tubing is not listed on the web site shop so must be ordered over the phone or of course by purchasing at the shop.

Alternatively Ngineering has a web site from which the tubing may be ordered:

http://ngineering.com/tubing.htm

Instructions for cutting the tubing are available on the Ngineering web site here:

http://ngineering.com/tubing_cutting_tips.htm

I investigated the Ngineering shipping cost to Australia and it was US$10.00

If you wish to light the signal lamp then the hole in the 0.042 inch tubing is large enough to easily fit both wires on a 0603 SMD Warm White LED and might possibly also fit a second set of wires for a signal with two signal arms on the one post.

A Versatile Plastic mechanism is needed for this signal.

A suitable etched brass ladder can be used or I have Frosted Ultra Detail ladders available on the Signals Branch shop.
