NVG 6 was built in 1966 as one of the first supply vessels to support the offshore activities in the North Sea, and it was run by DDG Hansa. Many of the following supply vessels were derived from this design. After 1967, the vessel was named „Holstentor“, and while it was sold later, it was operated until 2012, last as „Mardive III.
Technical data of the original:
length: 52.9 m
width: 11.3 m
The Model is designed in 1:200 scale. It can be built as a model for static display or as a working RC boat. It is set up to enable radio control functions (RC), driven by the twin shaft propulsion. The rudder and the bow thruster are not prepared for any RC function due to the very low weight of the model. As the model is rather small, the model can only be used in very quiet water conditions. However, this model is not set up to be ready to run, it requires refinement and is only suitable for skilled model builders. The aft deck of the model can be planked with real wood veneer. The model is prepared accordingly
. An assembly manual, a set of drawings and further informations can be found on my website (download section): http://www.microboathobby.com/
To complete the RC model, additional components are needed:
- two motors M700 or M700L (DC Ø 7mm x 15mm) for main propulsion
- two shafts (1mm diameter) with stern tubes (2mm diameter) and props (max. 10mm diameter)
- RC equipment of your choice
