Product Description
These boxes are patterned after a box found in the basement of my 1894 Holyoke, Massachusetts house.  These boxes would have been used for peachs, grapes, plums and other soft fruits.  Labels are long gone so the exact source is not known.  These are shipping boxes and would likely have been used from the early 20th century until the 70s when cardboard boxes took over. Outside dimensions are absolutely correct but inside dimensions have been altered to make them printable by Shapeways.  Check out The Lable Man and other similar sites for the proper label artwork.
I recommend using #2 glass sand blasting beads or shot for fruit.  This is accurate for grapefruit, oranges, peaches and apples.  Use glass etchent such as Etchall dip 'n etch liquid to prepare them for painting.  Make an amalgam of paint ant the glass beads.  Spread this thin on a metal sheet.  Once dry scrape it off and grind it with a mortar and pestil.  Use a fine mesh colandar to separate the individuals from the ones that need further grinding.

Here are links for artwork I created to fit these models:
Colfax Fancy Pears
WJ Wilson Tokay Grapes
