R.A.F. B.E.12a (various scales)

Just as the BE.2c had not miraculously transformed into a nimble fighter in the guise of the BE.12, the BE.2e fared no better as the R.A.F. B.E.12a. The increase in horsepower and removal of the observer certainly helped, but the 12a was at its heart a docile, stable flyer. For a short period in the summer of 1917, one unit in France used the BE.12a, but they did serve on Home Defense and in quieter theaters such as Palestine and Macedonia.  In the Home Defense role a BE.12a shot down one Zeppelin.

This product comes in two scales:  1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288.  The 1:285 product contains two aeroplanes, each with propeller disks rather than blades, since blades are difficult to print at the smaller scale.  They are joined by disposable links to keep the price down, since single-part models are more affordable.  You can break the links with nail clippers, wire cutters, or similar.

DESIGNER NOTE:  Models at scales smaller than 1:144 may no longer be available.  Shapeways discontinued the material for which they were designed, and the newer materials require that each and every model be adjusted to thicken surfaces like wings.  If you are interested in a particular model in a small scale, please let me know and I will prioritize it higher in the queue.
