Product Description
From 1969, the Bell Jet Flying Belt—the first true “jet pack,” built around a Williams WR19 turbojet.
Unlike it’s more famous contemporary, the peroxide-fueled Bell Rocket Belt, which had a maximum flight time of just 21 seconds, the Jet Belt had a tested flight time of five minutes, with a projected fully fueled flight time of over 16 minutes—with a range of some 20 miles, and a 100 mph top speed. Additional development was expected to increase this further.
The program came to an end in 1969, and the sole prototype now resides in a museum.
But now, you can relive the dashing pizzaz of the Atomic Age in model form!
Available in 1/35 scale; further scales forthcoming. Pilot not included.
