Fleur-de-lis Wax Seal

This seal is for making impressions on sealing wax in the form of the a the Fleur-de-lis.  This symbol is often associated with French culture, the city of New Orleans, and the Saints football team.  It is also sometimes used to represent North on a compass, particularly on old nautical charts, so this may appeal to sailors as well. 

There are many different styles for the Fleur-de-lis, but as an Eagle Scout, I took the Tenderfoot badge from the Boy Scouts as my main inspiration.  This would make a great finishing touch on invitations to an Eagle Court of Honor!


A wax seal adds old fashioned panache and class to envelopes and documents. Before self-adhesive envelopes, everyone used a seal of some kind to keep messages private. In our present day of emails and instant messaging, taking the time to write a letter makes a message stand out as important, worth taking the time to think carefully and spend money on paper, ink, wax, postage, etc. A wax seal makes sure that your letter is noticed among the junk mail.

The top of the handle is marked to make it much easier to align the impression and avoid setting the impression upside down or crooked, and the stem is elliptical so you can tell by touch when you're holding it straight. 

Buy premium sealing wax through our Etsy Store.  Regular candle wax doesn't work!  Ours has been tested in the mail from New York to New Zealand, the seal comes out looking better than the envelope.
