This set is of a six-piece Field Artillery Section and includes...
3 x M109A6 "Paladin"*, 39-caliber, 155mm Self-propelled Howitzers
and
3 x M992A2 FAASV **, Field Artillery Amunition Support Vehicles
* The M109 series was first developed in the 1960s by US defence contractor United Defence Industries which is now a part of BAE Systems Land and Armaments. Upgrades to the cannon, ammunition, fire control, survivability, and other electronics systems over the design's lifespan have expanded the system's capabilities considerably. The M109A6 will remain the principal self-propelled howitzer for the US for the foreseeable future.
** The M992A2 is built on the same chassis as the M109. It is colloquially referred to as a "CAT" from it's nomenclature as a Carrier, Ammunition,Tracked. It is armoured and works one-on-one with it's howitzer. Paladin can carry 39 conventional rounds whilst the CAT carries another 90. The vehicle also contains a 2-stroke diesel powered auxiliary power unit that can power all non-automotive energy requirements on the Field Artillery Ammunition Supply Vehicle and on the howitzer when a slave cable is used to connect the two. This reduces fuel consumption when mobility is not required.
The turrets on the Paladin models can be rotated through 360°and the elevation of the gun is adjustable as well.
Please note that the individual items are supplied "caged" together to avoid loss and damage - there are NO SPRUES TO CUT AWAY from the individual items. Four guns are provide giving you one as a spare in case of breakages.
