The Age of Plastic, Destroyer Add-on #5
This is a pair of Evil Bad Guy shuttle spaceships, as used by the Bad Guy in Black, the Extra-Evil Guy in Robes, and also the Good Guys Sneaking into the Bad Guy Base, Assisted by Teddy Bears. They're scaled down to the correct tiny size for the Zvezda/Revell 1:2700 destroyer kit so you can model the third film's opening sequence!
Note that at this small a size (a mere 7.5mm long!), compromises to screen accuracy in terms of component thickness are unavoidable. I had to omit the swiveling guns, since they're impossible to replicate accurately this small. Yet even with tremendously thickened wing fins compared to scale, this is a really fragile and delicate model!
The original miniature has a lot of subtle panel lines that I couldn't replicate without making the wings grossly out of scale. The solution is to paint it to resemble the original as much as possible.
I've included two versions of the ship - one wings up for landing and the other wings down for flight. Because of Shapeways' setup fees there's little difference in price between one model and two.

These items are components for the serious model maker who wants to build a more accurate miniature. They require finishing. If you don't want to trim, file, and sand, then these aren't the parts you're looking for!
The parts are tiny, and easily broken. They push the limits of today's 3D printers. The detail in the digital previews is all there, but it won't always be visible at the miniscule sizes that this scale requires!
Lighting
This model is not designed to be lit. It's printed as a single closed object, and is too small to accommodate lighting without a ton of work.
Fun fact 1:
The special effects model of the ship was made with extremely thin wings. So much so that, if you see the model on exhibit today, you'll notice that the thin styrene wings have actually warped slightly with age.
Fun fact 2:
The two ship seen in episode 6 were represented on-screen by physical miniatures, by a partial exterior set, and matte paintings. However, the model and sets had very different cockpit sections. The set's nose was quite narrow compared to the broader, more rectangular, model.
This model is designed to resemble the original shooting miniature. If you're used to models and toys based around the set blueprints you may find the nose a bit square. The cockpit angle is slightly closer to the set than the model, however.
