Contrabass Tuba Cut-Away Mouthpiece

This is a Contrabass Tuba Cut-Away mouthpiece used both as a training and warm up device. Developed with some of the brass instrument faculty at Central Washington University and Norther Arizona University it is used, while looking in a mirror or working with your teacher or student, to visualize how the orientation and position of the lips effect the creation of the buzz needed to produce the tone for your instrument. This device also allows you to try different lip positions and techniques to maximize the quality of your tone and increase endurance. During performances this device is used to to keep the lips warmed up and ready, plus allows for in place fingering during gaps in playing the instrument.
