Product Description
First flying in late 1944, the wire-guided X-4 was almost the world's first operational guided air-to-air missile.
Intended to arm the Luftwaffe's Ta-183 jet fighter, as well as a number of other fighters both proposed and in-service, around 1000 of these missiles would be produced by early 1945—but the destruction of the BMW factory that would have produced their engines, combined with the rapid collapse of the Reich meant that none would ever see combat.
Now available as an add-on for your alternate history and "what if?" modelling needs, in 1/48 and 1/72 scale. UPDATE: Experimental 1/285 "6mm scale" version now available.
