Product Description
LB&SCR E2  - in ~2mm British N Gauge 1:148 scale with extended tanks.  ((Completed photographs with paint, details and a chassis on its way.)  Also if you want one in 2FS / 1:152 scale please make it known and it can be arranged.)

The E2 has been scaled down from the 4mm version with a few details removed or tweaked and inside walls thickened to be able to print in the smaller scale.  T
his smaller version for N gauge is intended to be used with a RTR 0-6-0 chassis from Dapol 57xx, Graham Farish Jinty etc.   A little bit of fettling underneith will likely be needed depending which chassis you use.  This version is a revision of the original N version whereby the backhead cab detail, floor and bunker inside wall has mostly been removed as it is found to be difficult to cut the detail out easily.
The Graham Farish 9400 Pannier Tank has been found to be a suitable donor chassis although no doubt others will too.  It should be appreciated that not all possible RTR chassis combinations can be tried for obvious reasons yet this is one that can definetly fit.  For the 9400 chassis the underside of the smokebox saddle will need shaving into lightly with a sharp knife and a teeny bit of the boiler underside removing.  The cab sides on the inside may also need a bit of filing, same for the step insides.  Other than fixing it to the chassis, smoothing, painting and detailing that's about it. (Yes I know the coupling rods are on upside down, second hand chassis!)

The product pictures show the original FXD version printed with the cab controls and floor intact.  It was bashed up to fit the chassis but now with this revised version you won't have to go to the same extremity to make space.

(If you want the original version reuploaded still with the backhead detail and floor intact pop a personal message.)

For rear fixing it is reccomended that some plastic card cut to suit chosen chassis with a hole drilled in for a screw is glued in place.

The photographs are a print of the original version with backhead and cab floor intact, however as that is the only difference the image is still accurate for all intents and purposes.

The main motivation for the creation of the 4mm SCC E2's was to correct the errors and compromises made by previous manufacturers; as a result these freshly designed E2's are not shortened, the running plate curves are not over the top and they have the correct wheelbase.

Please note - the prototype photographs sometimes showed the Smoke-Box to have rivets and other times none at all. For this reason this model has been designed as the smooth type to print better and provide a better canvas. Rivets can be added by buying transfer decals that have physical relief. DCC Concepts is one manufacturer that supplies them.

BODY INSTRUCTIONS:
The Smoke-Box Door is loose.  The cab roof is loose.  The buffers are joined to the bufferbeam already.

The Boiler Injector Pipe will need fabriacting from some Evergreen plastic rod or brass/nickel silver rod, same for the cab handrails.  Refer to prototype photographs.
You will need hand rail pillars or split pins and 0.3mm or less rod for the hand rails. To make the accurate positioning and fitting easier, holes have been slightly indented on the body; they just need drilling out.

Couplings are left for the user to decide based upon preference; just pop in your preferred coupling type. Alternatively ignore that and slot a scale coupling through the rectangular hole in the buffer beam on the body.
