Product Description
Extract from the book "US Army Airships 1908-1942" by James R. Shock...

The AC-1 non-rigid airship was originally called the Army Type MA, MA-1, or Military Airship N°.221. The airship was known by the Goodyear men who constructed it simply as the "military airship."  The designation was later revised to "AC" to fit into the Goodyear Pony Blimp series of Types A, AA, AB and AC

The AC-1 was a radical departure from civil designs of the day, with enclosed control car mounted flush to the bottom of the envelope and internally mounted engines turning propellers through a drive shaft arrangement
