Tamiya M04 - M04S (210mm Wheelbase) chassis

This is a replacement center chassis section for the Tamiya M04 but shortened to give the 210mm wheelbase that was unavailable with the standard chassis. The two chassis halves are connected, base to base, by two small points which will need to be carefully trimmed away before use. Extra parts and screws will be required.

The standard M04 was designed as standard with the "Medium" 225mm wheelbase (aka M04M) or, with the addition of the supplied spacer, the "Long" 239mm wheelbase (aka M04L). Swapping out the center piece with this shortned piece will give the "Short" 210mm wheelbase (or M04S) enabling the use of the more popular shorter M-Chassis bodies made by various manufacturers. The M04M wheelbase can still be acheived with the addition of a single standard (kit supplied) spacer section. The M04L wheelbase can also be acheived but with the addition of two standard (kit supplied) spacer sections.

I drew up this modified chassis specifically for my Lancia Stratos M04S project so, while I know it will fit this particular HPI body shell, I do not have any other 210mm wheelbase shells to hand (at time of writing) to test out for fitment. Please be aware that some body shells may have particular limitations/issues when paired with chassis' that they were not originally (or specifically) designed around.
