Update July '21: New, more detailed and accurate model, using the same parts as the new Constellation Class model in my shop.

This is the USS Marco Polo from the TNG Annual 1991 comic #2 "Riker finds himself on thin ice!". The ship is depicted as a variant of the Constellation Class with a Constitution like secondary hull instead of the second pair of warp nacelles (The cover however depicts it as a standard Constellation). Further differences are the missing cut-out in the front of the main hull and the absence of any of the "greebles" on the upper and lower surface of the saucer section. The former can be explained that if the cut-out is actually the deflector dish of the Constellation, then it is not needed anymore, because the secondary hull now has a large deflector dish. The missing "greebles" might be because all those external "things" are now housed in the secondary hull, or they are not needed because the ship does serve a different role. One noteworthy thing is, it seems as if there is something pointy in the place of the lower sensor dome, almost like a spike. Due to the rather coarse drawing style of the comic, it is not clear what this should be, so i just placed the large pointy thing from one of the lower side domes of the original Constellation Class there. In the Comic it is called a Challenger Class Deep-Space Explorer and for a long time it was believed that this is what the wreck of the USS Buran from the graveyard scene in TNG "Best of Both Worlds" actually looks like, because it was also named Challenger Class. But later it was made clear that the Buran looks quite different, when better pictures of the undamaged models appeared. So i list this just as the Marco Polo Type. Maybe it is the Challenger sub-class of the Constellation Class?
