The Chukulak (described by one Terran explorer as testy, polar bear-sized parrots) fly ships with advanced deflector shields and simple, rugged everything else. While Chukulak society values beauty in all things, they just don't see the point in designing their warships that way. Thus, their fleet is made up of cobbled together modular systems with all the visual subtlety of a spiked club.
Still, they hold their own against the Ikennek, whom they've been feuding with for generations.
