This scout and observation airplane was designed to replace the Curtis SOC Seagull aboard U.S. Navy battleships and cruisers. The central float could be replaced by fixed landing gear, allowing it to operate from aircraft carriers and land bases. They were unpopular with their crews and engine problems forced withdrawal from first-line units in 1944. Almost 800 were built, many of which ended their careers as radio-controlled targets.
This is a re-scale of our 1/285 model with floats, some parts have been modified to better fit the new scale.
