Product Description
When most people hear the term "pirate ship," this is what usually comes to mind, and with good reason. This is the vessel that most pirate captains strove to obtain during the Golden Age of Piracy, but few actually did. This ship is a 44-gun galleon with a large lateen mainsail, making it a hybrid of a galleon and its ancestor, the round caravel. This ship bears a type of rig more common among smaller vessels, which allowed pirates to outmanoeuvre and seize much larger vessels. This ship would be extremely nimble for its size, especially in light winds, giving the pirates a huge advantage over both their targets and their hunters.
The small size is approximately 1/2000 scale, and currently available only as a sprue of 10 or 50 on a separate product page.
The medium size is approximately 1/1350 scale.
The large size is approximately 1/1000 scale.
