Product Description
This model represents a barge, as used in many harbors to transport goods, coal the ships or for dredging works between 1850 (when first photos of similarily looking wooden hulled barges appear) to modern era (very similar steel hulled barges can be spotted in many harbors, like Hamburg (https://goo.gl/maps/95bfoEbmnk52) or London https://goo.gl/maps/LfTihaRGx1U2)

This particular barge is based on a 1905 design, built for the Harbor of Emden authorities, as seen here: http://www.digipeer.de/index.php?id=534513333

You will need to scratch build a rudder with a tiller, and add a photoetched railing around a hatch.

1:350 and 1:700 versions are also available!
