Product Description
This is an N-scale (1:160) model of a High-Volume Pneumatic Conveyor, based on the "Vac-Boss" style grain vacumm manufactured by Christianson. This model is a representation of their Vac-Boss self-powered Diesel 4066 or 6068 model, on a bumper-pull style trailer.
This model is based on the "Vac-Boss" line of products manufactured by Christianson. They manufacture a full line of agricultural and commerical grade pneumatic conveyor products ranging in size from small farm to full scale commercial dry-bulk handling facility, and are available in either PTO, self powered or electric drive blower configurations. During operation, the dry bulk product is vacummed up through a large intake hose, attached to the lower left side of the hopper, and blown out the discharge pipe on the right rear of the trailer, up the discharge pipe and into the waiting tractor trailer, grain trailer or railroad freight car.
Based on prototype photos & dimensions, this N-scale model represents a high-volume pneumatic conveyor. It is seen here representing a self-powered diesel version, modeled on a bumper-pull style trailer, in the "Closed - Parked" position. The jackleg is down, supporting the tongue of the trailer, and the discharge pipe is folded down & secured for storage. The access stairs to the upper platform are in the stored position. This model features detailing as close to scale as possible.
Model Note: Typically, a pipe rack is found to the right of the diesel engine enclosure, to store the lengths of semi-flexible intake pipe. It is not present on this model, to aid in printability & painting, but is available as a seperate piece, or would be easily scratchbuilt by the purchaser if desired.
