Product Description
Any fan of mountains must surely appreciate the alpine perfection of the Teton Range in Wyoming, or at least has seen Ansel Adams' famous photograph of the Grand Tetons from Snake River Overlook. This rugged subrange of the Rocky Mountains rises 7000' above Jackson Hole (the name of the flat valley), and is home to the town of Jackson and the famous Jackson Hole Mountain (ski) Resort. Three of the entries in "Fifty Classic Climbs of North America" by Roper and Steck are on Grand Teton. It's a classic in every measure.

This impeccably detailed and accurate 3d printed map encompasses both the Cathedral Group and its adjoining peaks. Leigh Canyon is at the far North of the model, and it extends West to Mink Lake and Lake Solitude. The Northernmost group includes Mt. Woodring, Rockchuck Peak, Mt. St. John, and The Jaw. South past Cascade Canyon and Jenny Lake is the classic Cathedral Group, with the best-known peaks of Mt. Owen, and Grand, Middle, and South Teton. Continuing South past Avalanche Canyon and The Wall are Mt. Wister, Buck Mountain, and finally Static Peak and its lower cousin Albright Peak.

Model scale is 1:50000
Model measures 8.2" x 12.4" x 2.2" (21 x 32 x 5.5 cm)
Original area is approximately 6.5 by 9.8 miles

TinyMtn models are most affordable in the "Sandstone" and "White Natural Versatile Plastic" materials. This model is in "Sandstone," which is a glued gypsum material. When you receive the model it will be ready for display, though it may smell funny and need some time to air out. "Sandstone" models are much more brittle than "Versatile Plastic" models, but feel more like light stone. Do not soak it in water, though you can safely seal it with Polycrylic or a similar water-based clear spray sealant. Read more about this popular material here.

All TinyMtn models have hollow bottoms - this is to save on weight, and thus cost. Many larger models also have extra flanges on their undersides to increase rigidity and strength. To make the model more solid, you should feel free to carefully pour resin into the bottom cavity, or glue a properly-sized slab of wood or another material into it.

These models have been optimized for the above materials, and are not offered in other materials for strength or cost reasons. If you need one in another material, please tinymtnbiz@gmail.com and we'll do our best to fulfill your request.
