Product Description
An OO Scale (4mm to 1ft) model of Clifton (Mayfield) station signal box as built by Mckenzie & Holland for the North Staffordshire Railway on the branch to Ashbourne in Derbyshire. The box was cantilevered at the front and over the crossing, offering an unusual model. The staircase ran down the side rather than out from a porch as was common with the Type two designed boxes.
Instructions
The Wooden part of the box sits on top of the brick section. (The Clifton & Consall models have small
notches under the wooden structure to help locate them on the support brackets).
The stairs\porch will be placed up to the body of the building. The door can be positioned as you
wish.
Detail the interior as you see fit with frame, stove and instrument block shelf of your
choice/construction.
Slot in the support beam(s) and slide in the false roof.
Place the main roof over the top and slide in the chimney. Adjust to suit, but the top should be
below the roof ridge line.
You may wish to use a small bit of tin foil to replicate the lead flashing capping the tiles on the
Cheddleton/Elton porch roof – see photos on Google for reference.
