A two-piece design, this object is to be used with FIRST WAVE Upper Part. Compatible with IKEA HEMMA cord set.
FIRST WAVE is a lamp designed for 3D printing. It is a digital file and not and an object. Its unobtrusive design is algorithmically generated as an intersection of ripples animated by light. The file has a final and complete form. However, the product always has certain particularities, given the distinctiveness of the 3D printer used to obtain it. Each different setting yields different results. The several instances printed clearly show the benefits as well as the whims of 3D printing. Currently, just a few printers have an outcome comparable to an industrially obtained final product. Yet FIRST WAVE exploits this very diversity of the printed results, acknowledging the production errors as facts that need to be stated, and not as disposable plastic secrets.
