Maurice Farman M.F.7 "Longhorn" (various scales)

The gentle Maurice Farman M.F.7 "Longhorn" was used in a variety of roles in 1914-1915, and -- due to its forgiving characteristics -- it served even longer as a trainer.  It served in at least eleven escadrilles with Aviation Militaire and it was also used operationally by Belgium, Greece, Italy, Japan, Russia and Spain.  As early as 1915, MF7s were used for bombing, balloon attack, and as a fighter/escort for other MF7s.

This product comes in 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales.  At 1:144, though it was only occasionally armed, this model includes a gun for the observer.  If you want an unarmed aeroplane, it is easy to snip off the gun with a hobby knife.  The 1:285 product is an unarmed plane with a propeller disk.

DESIGNER NOTE:  Models at scales smaller than 1:144 may no longer be available.  Shapeways discontinued the material for which they were designed, and the newer materials require that each and every model be adjusted to thicken surfaces like wings.  If you are interested in a particular model in a small scale, please let me know and I will prioritize it higher in the queue.
