This Klingon D4 Cruiser is based on the design as it appeared in the 2006 "Ships of the Line" Calendar and "Ships of the Line" book. The design was created by Robert Bonchune, intended to be used in the Enterprise episode "Unexpected". Unfortunately, the producers wanted this ship to have more visible windows, which wasn't doable in time for the episode and an unfitting K't'inga class model was used instead. Later appearances of Klingon ships only featured specifically Enterprise era designs, but sadly, this didn't make an appearance on screen.
Update April 2020: More detailed and resized model. At first, i used the size of 175m as given by the size chart from the Axanar fan film, but on a second look, this seems too small. The bridge section would hardly be big enough to be habitable. Given the sizes of the windows visible on the original model, the size has to be more towards 200m, so i use the length of 205 from the FASA source book now. I also noticed that the ship was too wide relative to the length when compared to the available orthos of the ship. I corrected that too.
