d52 spherical playing card die
d13 & d8 Card Dice set
This is a 52 sided die on which each face has been labeled with one card (value and suit) from a standard deck of playing cards.
This die prints fine in Stong Flexible Polished materials, but due to the detail of the design (many small sides) it should be even better in a more detailed material such as Acrylic Detail Plastic, or Frosted Ultra Detail. The die should be used on a completely flat, completely level surface for best results. This die has the similar dimensions to
Gamescience's d50 Big Topper and performs similarly to that design, for those who are familiar with it.
This d52 die has an
isohedral convex envelope of the shape:
Icosikaihexagonal Dipyramid (two 26-sided pyramids, joined at the bases). Some portions of the mass have been symmetrically removed to reduce the cost of 3D printing and to give the impression of a roulette wheel inspired by a casino motif.
There are other versions of this die available in my shop, including:
Possible uses:
- Simulate drawing a card from a deck in an RPG campaign, while sticking to a dice mechanic
- Use to resolve an argument or to decide who goes first (you and your friend roll, whoever "draws" the highest card wins)
- Randomly choose a single card which will be wild in a game of poker
- Use in the game "Savage Worlds"
- Use five of these to roll a hand of poker (simulating an infinite deck shoe)
- Develop a "pick a card" magic trick which is based around the die
- to give as a gift or have as a conversation piece
- or come up with your own uses
