Product Description
During the 1980's and early 1990's the Canadian National Railway rebuilt over 200 aging GP7 and GP9 diesel locomotives. The rebuild Geeps where designated as GP9rm locomotives, which got anew low short hood, new cabs, new electricals, 16-645C engines, and other optimizations. Those numbered in the 4000 range were rebuild as road switchers with the controls rotated to face the short hood, while those in the 7000 series were yard switchers, regularily operated with a slug and equipped with remote control systems.

This cab represents a GP9rm quite faithfully and is more or less built to match the 4000 series of road switchers. Afte looking through 5 dozen photos of these engines, it became clear that there are a few differences on alomost every locomotive. The configuration of the louvers on the cabinets but also the

dimension and location of the cabinets can vary.

This particular cab has no actual prototype.

Compatibility: NONE

The measures were take from a Proto2000 GP18 shell. This is a BETA or testing version. There will be improvementS in the future.

Current issues and errors: The 3D model was exported using an automated solidifying modifier which results in a lot of unnecessary geometry and virtually uncontrollable wall thickness. The resulting STL file resulted in "ghost" geometry that obstructs the windows. So I have to model the interior by hand for the next update. The model will be available for purchase if the results are satisfactory.
